The puberty talk

The puberty talk is part of statutory Health Education. Covering two theme outcomes; puberty and menstruation.

The Government states that lessons about puberty should be delivered before onset in order to prepare children in advance for the changes they may experience. Our programme is suitable for children aged 9 – 11 years old.


Health Education

Theme: Changing adolescent body

Learning outcomes: The workshops will cover key facts about puberty and the changing adolescent body, including physical and emotional changes.  And learning about menstrual wellbeing including the key facts about the menstrual cycle.

Topics covered:

  • correct names and functions of reproductive body parts
  • physical, social and emotional changes of puberty
  • period education (menstrual cycle and how to manage your period)
