In 2016 the government inquiry into sexual harassment in schools found almost a third (29%) of 16-18-year-old girls say they have experienced unwanted sexual touching at school
For KS2, our consent workshops focus on personal boundaries, your body – your rules and developing assertiveness skills as well as teaching where to go for help and support.
For KS3/4 and 5, the workshops aim to support young people to be able to build healthy relationships in which both parties respectfully seek consent and respect one another when consent is not given.
The content of the workshops allow young people to understand what a healthy relationship looks covering equality and mutual respect. And gives the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, attributes and language necessary to seek, give, not give and retract consent.
The workshops also support young people to develop their communication skills, using learning activities which help students accurately interpret both verbal and non-verbal communication and also consider strategies for managing manipulation/vulnerability and risk.
